Our talented Womens team have risen to become one of the powerhouse sides in the Central North competition, and are entertainers both on and off the field!
The Narrabri Rugby Club, formed in 1964, has been a hub of rugby, mateship and community in the Narrabri shire for nearly six decades. Over the course of that time the club has grown and evolved into the club it is today, fielding sides in every grade and age group from Under 6’s to Golden Oldies. It is with a lot of pride that the club provides opportunities for everybody; boys and girls, men and women at all stages of their rugby journey.
Playing out of our home ground, Dangar Park, the club is fortunate to offer facilities of a high standard for players, members and spectators alike. With two playing fields, TV Broadcast standard playing lights and the latest equipment, our players enjoy an excellent environment to learn and play the game. Our clubhouse provides full amenities for our members and spectators with full bar, canteen and bathroom facilities that make for an enjoyable day at the rugby, full of great atmosphere and hospitality.
Local Competition.
With so many teams taking the field, there is plenty of Blue Boar rugby played during the winter months. Our Senior Men’s (First, Reserve and 3rd Grades) and Women’s 10s play in the Central North Rugby Competition on Saturdays from April through to September. For casual players, we often field third grade and Golden Oldies sides in friendly matches when the opportunity arises during the season.
Our high school age sides, both boys and girls divisions in the Under 14s, 16s and 18s play in the North West Regional Youth Competition on Friday Nights.
The Narrabri Junior Rugby Club take the field in the Under 6s through to the Under 12s in Central North Junior Rugby Union Carnivals on Sundays, with each club hosting a carnival day through the season.
Touring.
The Blue Boars have a proud tradition of touring both within Australia and internationally. Recent tours have included a Grand Slam tour of the UK & Ireland, a domestic tour Adelaide and mostly recently in 2019, a North American tour to the USA & Canada.
Providing opportunities for our players to have new experiences through rugby is an important aspect of the club. We are fortunate to have made some great connections with the global rugby family through touring and our players are able to benefit from those great aspects of being involved in the game of rugby union.
